Land & Resource Management Committee Public Hearing, 4/1/09
Today, the the Land & Resource Management Committee headed by Representative Dennis Bonnen held a public hearing concerning several bills including HB 3986 to close Rollover Pass. The GCA was represented there by Cliff Tomerlin, Amanda Reynolds and Connie Tomerlin. Cliff and Amanda spoke before the committee in opposition of this bill as it is now written. So much has been lost in the past year this attempt to close a source of income for an area that is struggling to rebuild I would consider a very low blow. Certainly these so-called experts could find a better way to resolve this problem then to close this pass. Other areas simply baffle the inlets. This resolves the problem without the loss of fishing. Truth is, it is probably a cheaper solution.
